Our server was very helpful and patient as we tried to narrow down our options. Spot on recommendations!!! Our food was fantastic and ample... the cinnamon bun French toast was divine, and we even bought a loaf of the bread to create a duplicate dish at home... hands down the best corned beef hash imaginable! Crisped to perfection! I would have liked the lobster to be buttered on the Benedict, but that's a personal preference, and I'd order it again asking for exactly that. They do something to the bacon that makes it a meal in itself.... soooooo good! Cash only, but they do have an ATM...
We ate here because of reviews on line and we were so glad!!! Awesome food! There was 7 in our group and we all got something different and all was delicious. Cute place to eat. Our waitress was great!
I had heard some great things about the red cottage restaurant. Especially their breakfasts. Finally got to try it on our last day of vacation and boy were we not disappointed! The menu is extensive. And they have selections that I have never seen at any other breakfast place. One word of warning. If you go, try to get there as early as possible because they do fill up very quickly. We got there right as they opened at 7:00 a.m.
My wife got the French toast foster. It was cinnamon bread that was easily over 1 in thick, with caramelized bananas, rum, and banana liqueur.
I got the lobster red cottage bowl. OMG! It was their red cottage home fries that had ham, tomato, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. On top of that was 8 oz of lobster meat, then on top of that were two eggs. Oh yeah and the potatoes and lobster meat was covered with a fabulous hollandaise sauce. As I said, probably the best breakfasts we've ever had.
I was in Cape Cod visiting my daughter for a few days. We had breakfast here 3 mornings and I loved it! The bananas foster French toast was one of the best breakfast foods I have eaten! There were 3 of us and we each ordered an egg dish and we split the French toast. The omelettes, goat cheese chive scramble and potatoes were all delicious! Almost forgot , we shared the cinnamon roll French toast one morning. Was almost as good as the bananas foster one! The people working there are very nice. Service was great. The last day we were there, one of the chefs came out to ask us how we liked the omelettes. We had ordered the specials and he told us they were his idea. I love that he cared about the food he was preparing! They are crowded but the wait wasn’t very long. We went on Monday before we left and we’re seated right away. Might be a good day to go! Highly recommend this place. Go, you won’t be disappointed!
Service and breakfast was incredible. Definitely worth the wait. Ask for the popovers ( instead of toast).
Great breakfast spot, keeps that 50s diner atmosphere. Cash only but has an atm on site. My wife loved the off the menu pumpkin pancakes, kid friendly with decent high chairs. The home made corned beef hash was great as well as Benedicts. Mother in law loved the popover. I have eaten in a lot of diners and would come back here for a repeat or lunch great local spot!
Fun place for breakfast- lunch.
Hidden away in South Dennis it is a quaint, Old Cape Cod throwback. Delicious food, big servings but do remember that it is cash only (there is an ATM). Best to arrive early or you could be standing in line outside..
Starting from the coolk having no sanitation skills, cross contaminating everything he touched by not using utensils and just grabbing multiple ingredients from their containers with his hands, coffee was like water, omelet was as thin as a crepe and brown, I don't know in whose world they think their omelet fits the definition. The toast was more like warmed sponges. I have had better breakfast at IHOP. Cash only but they have an atm, which they no doubt own and operate, so you get poked twice. Not worth the wait, especially during the summer.
